It’s not very often that something comes round that is genuinely unique. That you’ve never seen happen, ever before. This is one of those. Surface is a synthetic ice rink at Gillett Square, with video projection being beamed onto the surface and skaters that transforms the skating experience. This is a cool, dynamic and fun for all the family Easter holidays activity.
The concept was originally designed by Hannah Douglass, Oliver Savage, Curtis Russell and Sam Howard before being developed and creatively produced by Hannah Douglass and her company Fidget Productions, in partnership with Hackney Co-Operative Developments and with funding from the Commercial Education Trust. Lighting design and technical support was given by Oliver Savage and Douglas O’Connell.
